Ancestral umbrella making practices

It is possible to discover, in the region of Inle Lake, a craft of great delicacy: the manufacture of paper umbrellas. These artisans are true artists. First, they make paper from a mixture of bark and clay, which they work for a long time and then dry in the sun. The paper is mounted on a bamboo stem and wooden whales.
