Its good to know...

The best season to discover Myanmar is the dry season which runs from October to March. April and May can get really hot but some people enjoy this heat. Traveling from June to September is the lower season during which you will appreciate less tourists and lush vegetation. Only the northern part though can be visited though as the south will face heavy monsoon. However due to the global warming, the weather remains unpredictable and we get every year different weather reports and travellers feedback. Please be rest assure that I am here to guide you through your best options.

Generally speaking, Myanmar is more expensive than other countries such as Thailand since the country has only been opened to tourism since a few years and air transport and hotels remain expensive.

However, you will be enchanted by this untouched and peaceful destination, rich in history, culture and nature. A perfect journey for travellers in search of authenticity, spirituality and serenity.

Mode of transportation

THE TRAIN: Taking the train is a unique adventure! Very slow and uncomfortable, with old fans (sometimes) and upholstered seating. Even if it is not luxury, it is a great way to immerse for a short time in the local life.

The AIRPLANE is obviously the fastest and most efficient means of transport. However, prices are relatively high but on a short tour, the plane is strongly recommended to save time.

BOAT, BICYCLE, HORSE CART, TRISHAW: are safe and truly enjoyable modes of transport especially when you are a little tired or want to observe the scenes of life and the landscapes around you.

A still 'unknown' gastronomy...

Yet still unknown to the majority, the cuisine of this former British colony populated by 135 different ethnic groups, shows an amazing culinary eclecticism that deserves to be emphasised.

And that the refractory to the Asian kitchen are reassured: here, no spice. The kitchen is sweet. And the coconut milk, so adored in Thailand, is absent. The basic food is rice (htamin) accompanied by meat or fish curry, served with a multitude of small dishes, including vegetables ... This is known as the Burmese buffet, (Mong in the South, the Bamar, the main ethnic group, or the Shan, on the border of China), all flavoured with Chinese or Indian flavours (Myanmar is a former colony of China and India).
